The heads of the hammer axes are manufactured in Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture, one of Japan's leading manufacturing towns.
This product was developed in collaboration with a craftsman who has unique forging techniques and has been making tools for professionals for many years.
Forging
The S55C material is heated to over 1000 degrees and struck with a giant hammer to shape and forge it. After that, it goes through processes such as removing burrs, removing the oxide film, and punching holes to fit the handle, before moving on to the next process.

Heat Treatment
Heat treatment (hardening, normalizing, tempering) is adjusted according to the part.
The tip of the blade is thinner than the other parts, and because it is the surface that comes into contact with the firewood, it is particularly strengthened by induction hardening. This increases the cutting power into the firewood.
Tempering
On the other hand, the hammer part is tempered to reduce its hardness and increase its toughness. This is a special heat treatment that stabilizes the metal structure. This is to prevent injury from breakage of the head or chipping (flying metal fragments).
Engraving
The stroke of the press machine is used to adjust the pressure range, so that the logo is reproduced evenly. After this, the product goes through a black dyeing process.
Polishing
The blade and hammer are polished by hand by craftsmen. The inclination of the blade is so minute that it cannot be seen with the naked eye. The degree of polishing can be checked by the sense of touch of the fingertips, a true work of art.

Assembly of head and handle
The baton, received from Sanjo City, Niigata Prefecture, will be passed on to Komagane City, Nagano Prefecture.
At FIRESIDE, a 5-ton hydraulic machine is used to press the handle onto the axe head and complete the assembly.
Insert a wedge, apply oil to the entire surface, and let it dry.
